Built to Roam is not a bucket list. It’s not “travel & adventure for beginners” or “gentle hikes for women over 40.”
Because staying adventurous isn’t about ignoring your limits. It’s about knowing them well enough to push past them intelligently. With the right prep, the right gear, and enough experience to recognize when the mountain is telling you something.
Some people buy a sports car at 40. Or think not it’s the time to slow it all down as I am old! I myself started to think about how do I get free-er and better prepared for what comes next?
There’s a particular kind of freedom that comes from standing at the base of something that scares you a little — be it climbing, driving or simply travelling somewhere you haven’t been before — and going anyway.
Not because you have something to prove. Because you’re genuinely curious what’s at the top.
That curiosity is what this page is about. And every single time I’ve finished something HARD, that made me questioned my life choices on the way down, I immediately planned a return-trip, as I reached the bottom of the trail.
Every single time, I was glad I went.
Your travel & adventures
Built to Roam travel & adventure routes here aren’t recommendations. They’re field reports.
Where to park. How long it actually takes — not the optimistic version on the trail map. What the crux feels like when your arms are already tired. Whether the cable car is worth it on the descent. The stuff you only know if you’ve been there.
No stock photos. No “wanderlust” captions. Just honest accounts from someone who showed up, got it wrong a few times, and came back with better information.
What travel & adventure are you in the mood for?
Curiosity doesn’t have an expiry date. Neither does courage.
CLIMBING & VIA – FERRATA ROUTES
Vertical, exposed, and quietly life-affirming. Routes graded honestly — including the ones that made me reconsider my choices at 200 meters.
HIKING & ALPINE ROUTES
From ridge lines that earn their views to multi-day routes that earn everything else. Real elevation. Real effort. Worth it.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Descents I’ve survived, climbs I’ve cursed, and a handful of trails I’d drop everything to ride again.
WATER & OTHER ADVENTURES
Because sometimes the adventure is horizontal, and that’s perfectly fine.
